Audio Tools

Trim and adjust audio clips directly in your browser, with nothing uploaded to a server.

About these tools

Six tools work with sound, and all of them run in your browser without uploading the file. Audio Converter decodes MP3, OGG, M4A and other formats your browser supports and saves the result as an uncompressed 16-bit WAV file, while MP3 Encoder goes the other way and produces a real compressed MP3 using a JavaScript port of the LAME encoder, with a bitrate you can choose. Audio Trimmer keeps one continuous section of a recording, set with Start and End sliders that move in 0.1-second steps, and downloads it as WAV.

Audio Volume Changer multiplies every sample by a percentage from 10% to 300% and warns you if any peaks had to be capped to avoid distortion. Text to Speech reads text aloud with an offline English voice you choose and downloads exactly that audio as a WAV, falling back to your browser's own voices (with no download) if the offline voices can't be loaded. Speech to Text does the reverse: it listens through your microphone in one of ten languages and builds an editable transcript that you can copy or save as a text file. Speech recognition is performed by your browser's own service, which typically means the audio goes to the browser vendor rather than staying on your device. The converters, trimmer and volume tool accept files up to 50 MB, since the whole file is decoded into memory. These tools do not record audio, edit multiple tracks, or add effects beyond what is described above.
