How it works

Each PDF's pages are copied into one new document, in the order shown above — drag a thumbnail to move it, or use the X to remove one. The original files are never modified.

Common uses

  • Combining scanned pages or chapters into one document
  • Merging multiple invoices or reports into a single file to share
  • Assembling a packet from several separately-saved PDFs

What the result looks like

The merged file contains every page of every input, in the order shown, so a 12-page and an 8-page PDF become one 20-page document. Pages keep their own size and orientation, so mixing portrait and landscape is fine. The file is not recompressed, so its size is usually close to the combined size of the inputs; run it through Compress PDF afterward if it needs to be smaller.

Limits and what can go wrong

  • Each file can be up to 100 MB, and all of them are held in your browser's memory while merging.
  • Password-protected or damaged files can't be merged. Remove the password first with the Unlock PDF tool.
  • Only the pages are copied, so bookmarks, form fields and other document-level features of the originals may not carry over.
  • The files are processed on your device and are never uploaded.

Is there a limit to how many PDFs I can merge?

No hard-coded limit, but merging many large files uses more of your browser's memory since everything happens locally rather than on a server.

Can I reorder the files before merging?

Yes. Drag a file's thumbnail to a new position in the list, and files are combined in the order shown. Use the X to remove one you don't want.
