How it works
Click a page thumbnail to include or exclude it. Selected pages are copied — in document order — into a brand new PDF. The original file isn't changed.
Common uses
- Pulling a single chapter or section out of a longer document
- Removing a cover page or blank pages by deselecting only those
- Sharing just the relevant pages of a report instead of the whole file
A worked example
A 12-page report needs only pages 1 to 3 and page 7. Choose the file, press Clear, then click thumbnails 1, 2, 3 and 7. The counter reads 12 pages, 4 selected, and the result is a four-page extracted.pdf. To drop a cover and a blank last page instead, leave everything selected and click pages 1 and 12 to deselect them, which gives 10 pages.
Behavior and limits
- Pages always keep their original order. They cannot be rearranged here.
- Each run creates one file from the selected pages. For several separate files, run it again with a different selection.
- Pages are copied, not redrawn, so text and images keep their quality. Document-level extras such as bookmarks, form fields and links to pages you removed may not carry over.
- The tool loads the whole file into memory, accepts up to 100 MB, and cannot open a password-protected PDF; remove the password with the Unlock PDF tool first.
- The original file is never changed.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select multiple page ranges at once?
There is no range box. Every page starts selected and you click thumbnails to include or exclude them, or use Clear and then click only the pages you want. The counter shows how many are selected.
Can I split a PDF into multiple separate files at once?
This tool extracts one set of pages into one new PDF per run. To get several separate files, run it again with a different page range each time.
Can I change the order of the pages?
No. Selected pages are always saved in their original document order. To combine or reorder whole files, use the Merge PDF tool.
Does extracting pages reduce quality?
No. The pages are copied into the new file as they are, not re-rendered or compressed, so text and images stay the same.
