Unlock PDF
Remove password protection from a PDF you already know the password for. Runs entirely in your browser — files are never uploaded to a server.
This tool requires the correct password. It cannot and does not attempt to bypass, crack, or remove encryption on a PDF without it — only use this on files you're authorized to unlock.

How it works
The password you enter is checked directly against the PDF's own encryption data, entirely in your browser. If it matches, the file's content is decrypted and saved again without the encryption — nothing is sent to a server, and a wrong password is simply rejected, never guessed or bypassed.
Password encryption vs. permission restrictions
Some PDFs use "owner" permissions to discourage printing or copying without requiring a password to open the file at all. That's a different, weaker mechanism than real password encryption — this tool tells you which situation applies to your file.
Frequently asked questions
Can this remove a password I don't know?
No. This tool only decrypts a PDF when you provide its correct password — it never attempts to guess, crack, or bypass real encryption.
What if my PDF just blocks printing or copying, not opening?
That's a permissions restriction, not password encryption — this tool detects that case and tells you, since there's nothing to decrypt.
