Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
At WebToolGrid, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information is (and isn't) collected when you use this website, and the choices available to you.
Information we do not collect
WebToolGrid does not require an account, login, or any personal information to use our calculators or tools. The numbers you type into a calculator, and the files you open in a file tool, are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript and are not uploaded to our servers or stored by us. The limited diagnostic reports and third-party requests described below are the exceptions.
Diagnostics and error logging
To find and fix bugs, the site sends small diagnostic reports to our own server (a Netlify Function at /.netlify/functions/log) when something goes wrong, and a few tools also report basic progress events.
- Sent for errors on any page: the error message and the first few lines of its stack trace, the page path (for example
/tools/merge-pdf), your browser's user-agent string (browser, operating system and device type), and the time it was received. - Also sent by PDF to Excel, PDF to Text, Image to PDF, Text to Speech and Video Converter: short progress or outcome events that can include the file's size, the number of pages or images, the chosen output format, the output size, or the length of the text (a character count). File names are not sent.
- Never sent: the contents of your files, or the text and numbers you type. Note that an error message can occasionally contain personal information.
Retention and access: the log keeps only the most recent 300 entries; older entries are overwritten automatically as new ones arrive, and there is no other retention period. It can be read only by the site operator with a private access token. This log function does not record your IP address, although our hosting provider may log standard request data as described below.
Third-party services used by some tools
Some tools load resources from, or hand data to, third parties. Your browser contacts these directly, so they can see your IP address and request details:
- Heading fonts are loaded from Google Fonts on every page.
- The OCR features (Image to Text, Scanned PDF to Text, and the OCR fallback in PDF to Text and PDF to Excel) download their engine and language data from the jsDelivr CDN on first use.
- Text to Speech's Download audio option downloads its voice model from Hugging Face on first use, and may load supporting files from a CDN. Its Play option uses your browser's built-in voices; some cloud-based voices send the text to the browser vendor.
- Speech to Text uses your browser's built-in speech recognition, which typically sends the audio to the browser vendor's service (Google, in Chrome). WebToolGrid never receives the audio or the transcript.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and advertising partners may automatically log standard technical data such as your general location (derived from IP address), browser type, device type, and pages visited. This is typical, aggregated web-traffic data and is not used to personally identify you by us.
Cookies
WebToolGrid may use cookies and similar technologies to remember basic preferences and to allow third-party services, such as Google AdSense, to display advertisements.
Google AdSense and advertising cookies
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.
Third-party privacy policies
This Privacy Policy applies only to WebToolGrid and does not extend to advertisers or other third-party websites linked from this site. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those third parties for details on their own data practices.
Children's privacy
WebToolGrid is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
We do not run user accounts, and the only data we store ourselves is the limited diagnostic log described above, so there is generally little or no personal data of yours held by us to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold information about you, or you have a privacy question, contact us using the details on our Contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Changes take effect when posted on this page, so please check back periodically.
Consent
By using WebToolGrid, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
