Why size conversion is approximate
Shoe and clothing sizes were standardized independently in the US, UK, and Europe, each using a different measuring system and starting point — there's no single global standard. On top of that, individual brands frequently run larger or smaller than the standard chart ("vanity sizing" is especially common in women's clothing). Treat these results as a solid starting estimate, not an exact guarantee — when it's available, always check the specific brand's own size chart or actual body/foot measurements.

- Women's shoes: US size ≈ UK size + 2 (a US 8 is a UK 6)

- EU shoe sizes are based on foot length in Paris points (2/3 cm each), which is why they don't line up with US/UK in a simple pattern

Why don't men's and women's shoe sizes convert the same way?
Men's and women's shoe sizes are numbered on different scales even within the same country's system — a US women's size and a US men's size for the same physical foot length are roughly 1.5–2 sizes apart, not the same number. This tool keeps the two size types separate for that reason.
Why did my exact size not match a listed row?
These charts only list the standard, commonly published sizes (typically in half-size steps). If you enter a value between two listed sizes, or one outside the covered range, the tool matches you to the closest standard size and notes that in the result.
Is CM foot length more reliable than a size number?
For shoes, yes — measuring your actual foot length in centimeters and comparing it to a brand's chart is generally more reliable than converting a size number, since size numbers vary more between brands than centimeter measurements do.
